That's a Wrap....

Well, I think I have dug and wrote enough about this project, I hope it was an enjoyable visit for you and it inspires you enough to try one of your own. If you do, please let me know so I can visit your pond. This is the final page with the landscaping in place. I will probably update it now and again as things (hopefully) grow in. Thanks again for visiting our pond and again thanks to all the help from the other internet ponders that made this possible for me.

DeskTop Wallpaper

With Netscape you can right click an image and set it as the wallpaper for your desktop. This is the shot I use so that I can be at my pond all day while I am at work.

The water plants in place are:

Variegated Canna - White Lily
Arum - Water Hyacinth
Parrots Feather - Arrowhead Taro
Anacharis - Cobomba
and a Hardy Lily called "Attraction"

Here we go 'Round the
Mulberry ....

The Landscaping, not on the waterfall, that is in place around the pond path starts from the left with a large Canna followed by:

Silver Mound Artemisia
Blue Clips (Campanula Carpatica)
Stone Crop (Sedum Vera Jameson)
Rosy Glow (Sedum Rosy Glow)
and it repeats again in that order around the pond, ending with a Silver Mound.

And in this Corner...

Not a great picture, but in the back left corner behind the header pool are few Caladium. These large red and green leafed plants were great for hiding the filter and adding color.

The plant in the planter on the front of the header pool is:
Sprengeri (Asparagus Sprengeri)

It worked great to break up the hard line of the header pool capping and should fill in nicely.

Topping things off!

The top of the header pool provided a landscaping and waterscaping opportunity all its own. The Sprengeri in the planter covered the rock base and I filled the surrounding soil with Ivy and Vinca that should grow down to cover the rock wall of the header pool.

In the water is water lettuce that will act as a vegetative filter and a pot of Chocolate Mint that is submerged to the lip of the pot and growing quite nicely.

My Favorite

Seeing as Water Gardening is new to me I was thrilled by this "Attraction" hardy lily's arrival. I planted it as root and it actually grew (wonders will never cease).

This is an early picture, it now has three blooms and about a dozen lily pads

As you can see it is not only my favorite but it seems the pads are well liked by some pond inhabitants.

I sure hope I buried RockZilla deep enough!
